Rhetorical Precis Chapter 3

Mike Markel argues that the key steps to writing technical documents are as follows:  planning, drafting, revising, editing, and proofreading.  He develops this argument by explaining in detail each step, giving examples and definitions for each.  Markel's purpose is to inform his audience of the most effective way of technical writing, in order to educate them on this specific genre of writing.  His audience is all people interested in technical writing, which can be seen in his educational yet conversational style of writing.
